Hike Certification

Part of the requirements for girls camp is to go on a 5 mile hike. You don't have to do it all at once but you do have to do a total of 5 miles. At camp, we did a three mile hike and so it was our responsibility to organize and do the other two miles. We were honored to have two Priesthood holders, Brother Leal and Brother Hess, go with us on our hike. They provide a good amount of protection, safety, and comedic relief for the "strenuous" (not really) hike.  We hiked a mile and a half, stopped at North Bingham Park and played a round of frisbee golf. The game was very new for most of the girls and quite honestly, quite hilarious to watch...but they had fun and the dads got to show off their awesome frisbee throwing skills. We had a lot of fun on our hike. Thanks to Mikinley for

Woman of Wisdom

We had the opportunity to have some ladies come visit from the Relief Society who have a lot of wisdom under their belts. They were willing to come and answer our questions that had anything to do with their first kiss, to what is their favorite scripture, to what is the biggest change they have seen in the world between when they were youth and the youth today. It was so fun to hear from them and feel of their sweet spirits! We are so grateful to them for coming. Thank you Sister Butler, Sister Kirkham, and Sister Huntsman!

For Mutual I had the girls write letters to themselves that they would receive back when when they become Laurels, kind of like their own little time capsule. I wanted them to talk about their current likes in school, sports, teachers, and perhaps boys if that is what they wanted to do. I wanted them to write their goals down of things they hope to accomplish in the next couple of years. I am excited for them to get their letters in the future. 

We also did a very fun dress up photo shoot. The girls had a blast getting all dolled up. Here are their pictures.
